He has worked in pencil and pen and ink for more than twenty five years often focussing on works which include older or dilapidated structures. Over that time his works developed from relatively simple to highly detailed and then back to a more basic form which suggests detail.

Ann lives in Woodend and has been painting seriously from 1979, choosing local scenes, inspired by the golden fields, rustic gates, sheds etc in North Canterbury, she has also created a number of artworks on commission.
Ann has received numerous awards over the years as a member of the Rangiora Art Society, also Prosser Quirke Combined Exhibitions, Town & Country Art Society in Christchurch and recently from the Kaiapoi Art Expo. she has also exhibited at the C.S.A. (C.O.C.O.) for several years and held a solo exhibition there in 1992 and at the Chamber Gallery Rangiora with two other artists in February 2005.

Karin has drawn and painted all her life and is self taught, with a preference for painting horses.
She has exhibited with the Rangiora Art Society since 2006, receiving merit awards, and at the 2009 Spring Exhibition, her pastel ‘Horse Portrait’, was awarded People’s Choice and the Russell Andrews Memorial Cup, for Best in Show.
Karin’s first solo exhibition, ’HORSETRAITS’, consisting of 18 paintings of horses, was held in May 2008, at Rangiora’ s Chamber Gallery, with the assistance of the Waimakariri Community Arts Council.
